About us
A free, no-shame site for anyone whose treadmill turned into a coat rack.
Why this exists#
Most fitness content is made by and for people who are already fit. If you're carrying a lot of extra weight, "just do a 45-minute HIIT session" isn't advice, it's a reason to close the tab. Treadmills Anonymous starts where you actually are: five minutes, slow, today, with a sense of humor about the laundry on the handrails.
What we believe#
- Five minutes counts. Small and daily beats big and never.
- No before-and-after photos, no shame, no "no excuses."
- Bigger bodies are welcome exactly as they are.
- Your doctor knows you; we don't. Ask them before starting if you have health concerns.
How it's paid for#
The site is free and always will be. It may show ads to cover costs. We don't sell products, programs or your data. Your streak and walking history stay on your own device. See the privacy policy for exactly what we collect.
Where the numbers come from#
Calorie estimates and activity targets come from public health sources. They're listed on the sources page.
