Couch-to-Belt

Six weeks, three sessions a week, brisk stretches mixed with easy walking. Start here once you can walk about 10 minutes, or after the 8-Week Plan.

Easy is your comfortable pace. Brisk is a bit faster: you can still talk in short sentences, but you wouldn't want to sing. No running, ever. Walk the other days if you like, or rest.

Tip

Weeks 1–2 match the belt timer's Intervals mode closely: 1 minute brisk, 2 minutes easy. Pick a time, switch to Intervals, and follow the ring.

Stay safe#

Stop and rest if you feel chest pain, dizziness, or breathlessness that doesn't settle when you slow down, and get medical advice. Use the safety key clip. Holding the rails is fine. If a week felt hard, repeat it; there's no prize for finishing in six.
