Headphones, safely
Good audio makes the minutes fly. Keep the cord and the volume under control.
Go wireless if you can#
A dangling cord can catch on the handrail or your arm. Wireless earbuds or headphones avoid that. If you use a cord, tuck it under your shirt.
Watch the volume#
Treadmills are loud, so it's tempting to turn it up. A rough rule: keep it around 60% of maximum and take breaks. Noise-cancelling headphones let you hear clearly at lower volume.
Stay aware#
Keep one ear able to hear the room if children or pets are around, and make sure you can hear the treadmill's beeps.
Ideas for what to listen to#
Save a podcast or audiobook just for walking, or try our 'Walk with me' stories and the coach voice in the timer.
