Treadmills for 400 lb and up
Heavy-duty treadmills exist, and they're worth it. The cheap ones that claim high limits often aren't.
Read the rating carefully#
Look for a stated maximum user weight comfortably above yours, ideally from a commercial or 'bariatric' line, not a light folding model.
What matters#
- A strong continuous-duty motor (often 3.0 CHP or more).
- A wide, long deck and a sturdy frame.
- Long, solid side rails and a low step-up.
- A real warranty on frame and motor.
Consider certified used commercial#
A refurbished gym treadmill can be sturdier than a new consumer one at the same price.
Delivery and floors#
These are heavy. Check stairs, doorways and floor strength, and pay for installation if you can.
