Treadmill desk setup
Walking slowly while you work adds up fast. A good setup keeps it comfortable.
Desk and screen height#
- Desk at elbow height while standing on the belt, so wrists stay straight.
- Top of the screen around eye level; a laptop stand plus separate keyboard helps.
- Keep things you reach for within easy reach.
Speed#
Slow: about 1–2 mph. You should be able to type and talk normally. Walk for parts of the day, not all of it.
Your body#
Wear proper shoes, take sitting and stretching breaks, and stop if you feel dizzy or your balance is off.
Safety#
Walking pads have no rails; keep the area clear, use the safety clip if it has one, and step off before stopping to think hard.
