- Do you need a fitness tracker or smartwatch to start walking?
Trackers: optional
You can build a walking habit with nothing but a timer. A tracker is a nice extra, not a requirement.
What they're good at#
Counting steps, logging time and showing trends over weeks. Heart rate on the wrist is decent at steady walking paces.
What they're not great at#
Calories are estimates, and step counts on a treadmill can be off if you hold the rails.
Use it kindly#
Turn off goals and buzzing that make you feel bad. The trend matters more than any single day.
Pairing with our timer#
Heart-rate straps and some treadmills can connect over Bluetooth in supported browsers.
