GLP-1s and walking
Weight-loss medicines can work well, but some of the weight lost can be muscle. Moving your body helps you keep the good stuff.
Why movement matters#
When weight comes off quickly, some of it can be muscle. Regular walking plus some strength work, alongside enough protein, can help protect muscle, strength and energy. Ask your prescriber or a dietitian what's right for you.
Low appetite, low energy#
Smaller meals can leave you tired. Shorter, easier walks still count. Drink water, especially if you've had nausea or vomiting, and stop if you feel faint or dizzy.
A simple weekly mix#
- Walk most days, even 5–10 minutes.
- Two or three short strength sessions a week, like chair sit-to-stands and wall push-ups.
- Track how you feel and how far you can walk, not just the scale.
For later#
The habit you build now helps keep weight off if the medicine changes or stops.
