Getting your people on side
The people you live with can make walking easier or harder. A short, specific ask goes a long way.
Make one specific ask#
'Can you watch the kids for 15 minutes after dinner so I can walk?' works better than 'I need more support.'
Share your why, not your weight#
You don't owe anyone numbers. 'I want more energy for us' is enough.
Handling comments#
If someone's remarks sting, it's fine to say: 'I'm doing this my way, and what helps is encouragement, not advice.'
Invite, don't require#
Some family members may want to join a buddy challenge or walk with you. Others won't. Both are OK.
