Walking with an underactive thyroid
When your thyroid is underactive, everything can feel slower. Treatment comes first; walking helps alongside it.
Treatment first#
If you're tired, cold and gaining weight, ask your doctor to check your thyroid. Once treatment is right, energy often improves.
Start gently#
Short walks most days, building slowly. Joint and muscle aches are common with hypothyroidism; keep it low-impact.
Be patient with the scale#
Weight can move slowly even on treatment. Track energy, mood and how far you can walk too.
