Walking with PAD
Leg pain when walking that eases with rest (claudication) is a classic sign of PAD. Walking programs can increase how far you can go.
Walk, rest, repeat#
Supervised programs often have you walk until moderate leg pain, rest until it settles, and repeat, for about 30–45 minutes, a few times a week. Ask your doctor about one.
Look after your feet#
Check feet daily for sores, especially if you have diabetes. Comfortable, well-fitting shoes.
Get urgent help for#
Pain at rest, a cold, pale or blue foot, or a wound that won't heal.
