Kind movement, not penance
Binge eating disorder is common, real and treatable. Walking can support recovery, as long as it's never used to 'make up for' eating.
Treatment first#
Talk to your doctor about binge eating disorder. Therapy and sometimes medication help. You deserve care, whatever your size.
Keep walking separate from food#
Walk because it helps your mood, sleep and body, not to burn off a binge. If you notice that pattern, pause and talk to someone.
Turn off the numbers if they hurt#
Calorie estimates are optional. Focus on minutes, mood and how you feel.
Support#
In the US, the National Eating Disorders Association and your doctor are good starting points. If you're in crisis, call or text 988.
