Bladder leaks? Keep walking
Leaks with movement are very common, especially after childbirth, around menopause and with extra weight. They're also treatable.
Practical tips#
- Empty your bladder before you walk.
- Wear a liner or leak-proof underwear for confidence.
- Keep the pace steady; walking is gentler than running or jumping.
Pelvic floor exercises#
Squeezing and lifting the pelvic floor muscles regularly can help a lot. A pelvic health physical therapist can teach you the right technique.
See your doctor#
Leaks are a medical issue, not just 'part of getting older'. Ask about treatment, especially if you also have pain, burning or blood in your urine.
