Walking for men's health
Many men put off checkups and exercise until something goes wrong. A daily walk is one of the easiest ways to start looking after yourself.
Why it helps#
Regular walking is linked with lower blood pressure, better blood sugar, a healthier heart and better mood and sleep.
Start small#
Five easy minutes a day. You don't need to prove anything on day one.
Book the checkups#
Ask your doctor about blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and any screenings for your age.
Talk about mood#
Low mood in men often shows up as irritability or tiredness. Walking helps, and so does talking to someone. In the US you can call or text 988.
