Walking through grief
There's no right way to grieve. For some people, a short walk each day becomes a small, steady thing when everything else is upside down.
Small and gentle#
Five minutes, slowly. Some days you'll cry on the treadmill. That's allowed.
A time to remember#
Some people walk with music the person loved, or think of them on the walk. The journal note can hold a memory.
Be patient with yourself#
Grief affects sleep, appetite and energy. Missing days is OK.
Reach out#
If grief is overwhelming months later, or you feel hopeless, talk to your doctor or a grief counselor. In the US you can call or text 988.
